> FTPie is a modern Windows desktop application for managing FTP, SFTP, FTPS, WebDAV, and cloud storage in one place. It replaces legacy FTP clients like FileZilla or WinSCP with a tabbed, dual-pane interface and built-in productivity tools.

FTPie is built and maintained by Vladyslav Fedoniuk as an independent software product. It offers a Free plan (up to 3 FTP/FTPS/SFTP connections) and a paid Pro plan that unlocks cloud storage, WebDAV, NAS and self-hosted servers plus advanced tools.

### Transfer Files
Direct transfers between any two storages. Parallel transfers (default 5 concurrent). Pause/resume at chunk level. Configurable retry and timeout behavior.

### Quick Upload
Right-click any file in Windows Explorer to upload to any connected storage.

### Quick Share
Right-click any file to upload and generate a shareable link instantly. Works from FTPie or Windows Explorer.

### Share via Email
Right-click any file to email it to one or more recipients directly from FTPie. Sends a branded HTML email with a one-click download button through the user's own Gmail, Outlook, or custom SMTP account (no anonymous link service). Optional personal message; works with files on any connected storage.

### Storage Explorer
Total Commander-style dual-pane layout. Details, icons, and preview view modes. Tree view, breadcrumbs, smart search, drag-and-drop.

### Auto Backups
Scheduled backups between any storages. Daily, weekly, or custom intervals. Zip compression with optional AES-128 or AES-256 encryption. Retention policies and detailed logs. One-click Restore brings a snapshot back to the original or a new location (plain or compressed). Notifications on backup completion via in-app toast, email, Telegram, webhook, or a local script - configurable per backup for failure, completed-with-errors, and success.

### File Encryption
Client-side AES-256 encryption (CBC + HMAC-SHA256, PBKDF2 key derivation). Right-click a file or folder to encrypt before upload; output is saved as [name].ftpie.[ext] with a lock overlay in the browser. The key never leaves the device. Encrypting needs Pro; decrypting .ftpie files is not gated and is open to everyone, including the Free plan.

### Command-Line Interface (CLI)
ftpie-cli runs the same engine and saved connections as the app. Twelve verbs (list, info, search, size, new-folder, delete, copy, move, upload, download, accounts, status) with Unix aliases. Target saved accounts by numeric id, reference items by path or native id, --json output, documented exit codes. Scriptable from PowerShell, batch files or CI. A visual Command Builder in the app (main menu, CLI > Command Builder) assembles any command with dropdowns, hints, an item picker for storage paths, and a live preview to copy or run in a terminal. A Pro feature (Pro or trial).

### Scheduled Transfers
Recurring transfers between any two storages - local, FTP/SFTP, NAS, WebDAV or cloud - on a timetable, without scripts or Task Scheduler. Daily, weekly or custom-interval schedules with a missed-run policy (run immediately, skip, or ask). Existing-file handling per transfer: replace, skip, or transfer only changed files. Optional zip packaging with password. Per-transfer notifications via in-app toast, email, Telegram, webhook, or a local app. Management dialog with run-now, pause/resume, edit, rename, and per-run history with logs. A Pro feature.

### Document Editing
Edit remote files via Google Docs, Microsoft 365, or any local application. FTPie handles the download, sync, and cleanup automatically.

### Integrated Compression
Create zip archives on remote storage without downloading. Password protection. Preview zip contents by downloading only the header.

### Embedded Apps
Built-in PDF viewer (PDF.js), code editor (Monaco), image viewer with zoom/rotate, video player, and music player. All open in tabs.

### Notes
Rich text editor (Quill.js) with formatting, images, code blocks, math formulas. Export to PDF or share via link.

### Screenshot and Screen Recording
Capture screenshots or record screen. Annotate, save, or Quick Share with one click. Screen recording outputs MP4 (H.264).

### Shell Extension
Adds FTPie submenu to Windows Explorer right-click: Upload, Quick Share, Create Document, Download Here, Open in FTPie. Bi-directional drag-and-drop and clipboard integration between Explorer and FTPie.
